Awkwafina

American actor and musician Awkwafina debuted with sly lyrics that tackled issues of racial identity and sexuality with the most outrageous comedy perspective prior to expanding her repertoire to Hollywood. Nora Lum was born to Chinese Koreans living in Forest Hills Queens. Her first experience with music came through the instrument of trumpet. Additionally, she was given Jazz and classical training before exploring hip-hop in her teenager. In her studies, she majored in journalism and women's studies in college even doing Mandarin in Beijing during a brief time. Her focus was not on music until after she graduated. After gaining viral fame via the Internet and her own My Vag song My Vag was a reaction to the song of Mickey Avalon's My Dick. It eventually appeared on her debut album Yellow Ranger. The album also included hit songs with viral appeal, like the body-positive Queef or her wink-inducing hometown tour in NYC Bitche$. The latter song was linked directly into another venture Awkwafina's NYC Travel Guide, which was published in the year 2015. She decided to pursue acting as a profession following her completion of two endeavors, author and musician. Alongside early TV shows such as Girl Code and Tawk she appeared in films like Neighbors 2, Storks as well as Bad Rap. In 2018, she was able to land breakthrough parts in several notable films, including Dude Ocean's 8 as well as Crazy Rich Asians. In June, she published the EP In Fina We Trust.
